Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Yuri Hasegawa is a freelance photographer who now calls Los Angeles her home. She spends her time cruising in her sidecar scooter with her two ridiculously large & lovely dogs, Buddy & Gizmo. She is on a constant quest to find another great person or moment to photograph.

Yuri Hasegawa is a Los Angeles-based Japanese-born Commercial and Editorial Photographer and Director specialized in authentic, documentary-rooted lifestyle photography, reportage and portraiture. Her work ranges from celebrity to real people. Fluent in both Japanese and English.
A former professional dancer and choreographer, Yuri now channels that same intuition into the lens to capture the fleeting moments of life with a balance of observation and directing.
Her work is deeply inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Ichigo Ichie - the belief that every moment is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. She looks for the beauty in the imperfect, the raw intimacy of human stories, and the honesty of the process-of life itself.
Whether leading a crew of 50 for a global campaign or working 1-on-1 for an intimate session, Yuri enjoys how both different dynamics fulfill her as a storyteller. She always maintains the Japanese sense of \"Harmony\"(Wa), caring deeply about creating a positive vibe that allows everyone on set to be at their best.
From subculture narratives to high-end campaigns, she captures the joyful, the subtle, and the energized. She is a member of Diversify Photo & Women Photograph, and a dedicated advocate for rescue dogs by fostering dogs for the past six years.
